DART St. Louis

Challenge:

DART St. Louis is a participatory photography challenge. In April 2011, over 250 creative St. Louisans threw darts at a huge map of St. Louis City. Over the following month, participants visited the area where their dart landed, and took a photograph. DART needed a website to display the photographs while allowing users to vote for their favorites.

Solution:

Prior to the final event, I developed a holding page that would allow participants to upload their photo, along with entering their name, URL and the address of the photograph. Using this information, the CMS could place the photographs on a Google Map. Using AJAX, users can click through all the submitted photos in a random order while the map centers on the location. Each photo has a unique URL that can be shared in Facebook, Twitter and other social networks.

I developed all of the front-end HTML, CSS and javaScript and developed the content management system using the TOKY in-house CMS, Eero.
